Description

A creamy and flavorful English pea salad made with sweet peas, cheddar cheese, crispy bacon, and a tangy dressing—perfect for a quick and satisfying side dish.


Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1316 oz frozen peas, thawed and drained
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 cup red onion, chopped
  • 1/4 cup real bacon bits

Instructions

1. Thaw the peas by running cold water over them in a colander or letting them sit at room temperature until slightly softened, then drain well.

2. In a large bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, sour cream, apple cider vinegar, sugar, salt, and pepper until smooth.

3. Add the thawed peas, shredded cheddar cheese, chopped red onion, and bacon bits to the bowl.

4. Gently mix until all ingredients are well coated with the dressing.

5. Cover and refrigerate until ready to serve to allow flavors to blend.


Notes

The dressing will thicken as the salad chills.

Frozen peas work best for this recipe; thaw slightly before using.

For best texture, do not over-thaw the peas.
