Ingredients
- 1 French baguette, sliced into 1-inch pieces
- 2 cups cherry tomatoes, diced
- 1/2 red onion, finely chopped
- 1/4 cup fresh basil, chopped
- 4 slices of cooked bacon, crumbled
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Balsamic glaze for drizzling (optional)
Instructions
1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
2. Arrange baguette slices on a baking sheet. Brush each slice lightly with olive oil and toast in the oven for about 5–7 minutes until golden brown. You can use a cookie cutter or knife to create heart-shaped toasts before toasting.
3. In a mixing bowl, combine the diced cherry tomatoes, red onion, basil, crumbled bacon, minced garlic, salt, and pepper. Gently toss to combine.
4. Remove the toasted bread from the oven and spoon the tomato mixture generously onto each slice.
5. Drizzle balsamic glaze over the top if desired and serve immediately while the bread is still warm.
