Description

This Texas Roadhouse Butter Chicken Skillet is a rich, creamy, and flavor-packed chicken dinner made in just one pan. Tender chicken pieces are seared and simmered in a savory garlic-Parmesan cream sauce for the ultimate comfort food experience.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

1. Heat olive oil and 1 tablespoon of butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

2. Season the chicken pieces with garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Add the chicken to the skillet and cook until golden brown and cooked through, about 8–10 minutes.

3. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside. In the same skillet, melt the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter.

4. Add the chicken broth and bring to a simmer. Let it reduce for 2–3 minutes.

5. Stir in the heavy cream and Parmesan cheese. Continue stirring until the sauce thickens and becomes creamy, about 3–4 minutes.

6. Return the cooked chicken to the skillet and toss it in the creamy sauce.

7. Let everything simmer together for another 2–3 minutes, allowing the chicken to soak in the flavors.

8. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley and serve immediately.

Notes

Serve with rice, mashed potatoes, or crusty bread to soak up the extra sauce.

Add sautéed spinach or mushrooms for a veggie boost.

For a lighter version, substitute half-and-half for heavy cream.
