Description
A rich and crowd-pleasing dessert bar featuring a buttery cake crust, creamy cheesecake layer, and a decadent chocolate topping.
Ingredients
- 1 box (15.25 oz) yellow cake mix
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 large egg
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
- 1/4 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 cup chopped pecans (optional)
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350°F and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
2. Mix cake mix, melted butter, and egg until a dough forms. Press evenly into the bottom of the pan.
3. Bake for 15 minutes, then remove and let cool slightly.
4. Beat cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth, then spread over the crust.
5. Sprinkle chocolate chips and pecans evenly over the cream cheese layer.
6. Drizzle heavy cream over the top.
7. Return to the oven and bake for 25 minutes until edges are golden and center is set.
8. Cool completely before slicing into bars and serving.
Notes
Allow bars to cool fully for clean slices.
Optional pecans add a nice crunch but can be omitted.
Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
