This one-pot creamy spicy Cajun sausage pasta is a rich and comforting dish packed with smoky sausage, tender pasta, and bold Cajun flavors—all made in a single pot for an easy, satisfying meal.
Ingredients
- 1 lb smoked sausage, sliced
- 12 oz penne pasta
- 2 cups chicken broth
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 1 bell pepper, diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes
- 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
Instructions
1. Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.
2. Add sliced sausage, onion, and bell pepper; sauté for 5–7 minutes until browned and softened.
3. Stir in minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
4. Add diced tomatoes, chicken broth, heavy cream, Cajun seasoning, paprika, salt, and pepper. Bring to a boil.
5. Stir in uncooked penne pasta, reduce heat, and simmer for 10–12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until pasta is tender.
6. Remove from heat and stir in grated Parmesan cheese until melted and creamy.
Notes
Adjust Cajun seasoning to control spice level.
You can substitute sausage with chicken or shrimp for variation.
For extra creaminess, add a splash more heavy cream or cheese before serving.
