Description
This creamy garlic Parmesan chicken is a match made in heaven—tender chicken simmered in a rich, cheesy sauce with a hint of garlic that will leave your taste buds dancing.
Ingredients
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 5 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1⁄2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
1. Season the chicken breasts with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
2. In a skillet over medium heat, add olive oil and butter. Once hot, sear the chicken breasts for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown. Transfer them to the crockpot.
3. In the same skillet, add minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
4. Add chicken broth to the skillet, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom. Let it simmer for 2 minutes.
5. Stir in heavy cream and Parmesan cheese, whisk until smooth and well combined.
6. Pour the creamy mixture over the chicken in the crockpot.
7. Cover and cook on low for 4-5 hours or until the chicken is cooked through and tender.
8. Stir occasionally to ensure the sauce is well incorporated.
9. Once done, remove the chicken and whisk the sauce left in the crockpot until smooth.
10. Serve the chicken warm, topped with the creamy garlic Parmesan sauce and garnished with fresh parsley if desired.
Notes
For a thicker sauce, you can remove the chicken once cooked and let the sauce simmer on high in the crockpot for an additional 30 minutes.
This dish pairs wonderfully with pasta, rice, or mashed potatoes.
You can substitute half-and-half for heavy cream if you prefer a lighter sauce.
Add a squeeze of fresh lemon juice for a bright, citrusy kick.
