Description
Tasty and easy chocolate strawberries are a great treat, dessert, or gift. This chocolate covered strawberries recipe uses just 3 simple ingredients and delivers beautiful, delicious results.
Ingredients
- 2 pounds Fresh strawberries (buy a little more than needed to allow for any bad ones)
- 23 oz Milk Chocolate chips (1 bag)
- 11 oz White Chocolate chips (1 bag)
- Parchment paper
- Ziplock or piping bags (for decorating)
Instructions
1. Pick the best strawberries—avoid bruised, mushy, or cut ones. Wash them in a bowl with water, then dry each one gently with a paper towel. Ensure they are completely dry before dipping.
2. Line a tray with parchment paper.
3. Pour 3 cups of water into a pot and place a heatproof bowl on top. Add the milk chocolate chips to the bowl and melt over low-medium heat, stirring continuously until smooth.
4. Hold each dry strawberry by the leaves and dip it into the melted milk chocolate, turning to coat all sides. Place the dipped strawberries on the tray.
5. Repeat the melting and dipping process with the white chocolate chips if desired.
6. Chill dipped strawberries in the refrigerator for 30 minutes until chocolate hardens.
7. Melt ½ cup of white chocolate and transfer to a ziplock or piping bag. Snip a small corner off the bag and pipe decorative lines over the milk chocolate strawberries.
8. Chill again for 15 minutes to set the decorations.
9. Melt ½ cup of milk chocolate and transfer to a ziplock or piping bag. Pipe lines over the white chocolate-covered strawberries.
10. Refrigerate once more for 15 minutes to set.
11. Serve immediately or store in the refrigerator for 2–3 days.
Notes
Buy extra strawberries to ensure you have enough quality ones to work with.
Use medium-large strawberries for best results.
Make sure strawberries are completely dry before dipping or the chocolate won’t stick well.
Chocolate can be melted on the stovetop or in the microwave in short intervals.
Decorate as desired with piped chocolate after initial coating has hardened.
Best served the same day, but can be stored in the refrigerator up to 2–3 days.
