Description
This Best Heart Shaped Strawberry Cheesecake is a delightful pastry made with puff pastry, creamy vanilla cheesecake filling, and juicy strawberries. Perfect for Valentine’s Day, anniversaries, or anytime you want to serve a romantic dessert!
Ingredients
For the cream cheese custard:
- 1/3 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 8.8 oz cream cheese (softened at room temperature)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
For assembly and baking:
- 1/2 cup diced strawberries (fresh, diced small)
- 1 sheet puff pastry (thawed)
- 1 whole egg, beaten (for egg wash)
- Icing sugar for dusting (optional)
Instructions
1. Ensure your puff pastry is thawed and cream cheese is softened. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
2. In a stand mixer or with a hand mixer, combine cream cheese, granulated sugar, 1 egg, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth and creamy.
3. Transfer the cream cheese custard to a Ziploc bag for easy piping.
4. Unfold the puff pastry on a flat surface and gently roll it to flatten slightly.
5. Use a heart-shaped cookie cutter to cut as many hearts as possible. Re-roll scraps to make additional hearts.
6. Place heart cutouts on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Use a smaller heart cutter or knife to score a border on each heart.
7. Pipe cream cheese custard within the scored area of each pastry and top with diced strawberries.
8. Brush edges of each heart with beaten egg and sprinkle with extra sugar for added crunch.
9. Bake in the preheated oven for 22–24 minutes, or until puffed and golden.
10. Let cool slightly, then dust with icing sugar if desired. Serve warm and enjoy!
Notes
These pastries are best served warm but can be stored in an airtight container for up to two days. Reheat briefly in the oven for the best texture. Perfect for Valentine’s Day, baby showers, or brunch spreads.
