Description

The Bang Bang Chicken Bowl is a flavorful and spicy dish featuring crispy chicken tossed in a creamy, sweet and spicy sauce, served over rice with fresh vegetables for a satisfying meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil (for frying)
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons sweet chili sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Sriracha (adjust to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • 2 cups cooked jasmine rice
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce or cabbage
  • 1/2 cup shredded carrots
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds (optional)

Instructions

1. In a bowl, toss the chicken pieces with cornstarch, salt, and pepper until evenly coated.

2. Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the chicken and cook for 6–8 minutes, turning occasionally, until golden brown and crispy. Transfer to paper towels to drain.

3. In a separate bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, Sriracha, and honey to make the bang bang sauce.

4. Add the crispy chicken to the sauce and toss until evenly coated.

5. Assemble the bowls by dividing cooked jasmine rice among four bowls. Top with shredded lettuce or cabbage, shredded carrots, and the sauced chicken.

6. Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds if desired. Serve immediately.

Notes

For a lighter option, bake or air-fry the chicken instead of pan-frying.

Adjust the amount of Sriracha to control the spice level.

Substitute brown rice or cauliflower rice for a healthier variation.

Serve immediately for the best crispy texture.
